The Castle House is a private family-run estate. It boasts an historical home built in 1938, by the Staffler family. Primarily used as a tranquil retreat, the property hosted many parties and celebrations of Santa Cruz’s political and social elite. Castle House emits ambience unique only to the Santa Cruz Mountains, and Bonny Doon, in North-Central California.
As a private guild, Castle House & Gardens provides a venue for clients who desire a private, elite, and exclusive atmosphere for their special event. With a highly creative staff that is attentive to details, your event will reflect your own personal style, rather than a homogenized production. The expertly designed gardens– including ponds, fountains, and waterfalls with various private sitting areas provides a stunning and romantic venue for a wedding. It is complete with a unique display of formal and informal plantings in addition to cut flower production areas. An expansive redwood grove entertainment area is perfect for a candlelit dinner reception.
Castle House Gardens will be featured in the PBS Documentary ‘The Botany of Desire’ in summer 2009.
